Pan-Canadian Exam for Acupuncturist
The Pan-Canadian Exam is developed by the Canadian Alliance of Regulatory Bodies of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists (CARB-TCMPA) under the funding of Human Resources and Skills Development of Canada (HRSDC) to facilitate labour mobility across provinces. In accordance with the Acupuncture Regulation, applicants for their initial registration must have satisfactorily completed an examination approved by the Health Disciplines Board established under section 3 of the Health Disciplines Act. Pan-Canadian Examination is an approved qualification for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncturists as part of the registration requirements in Alberta. To be eligible for registration as acupuncturist in Alberta, applicants must pass the Safety Examination administered by the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (the CAA).
Students are eligible to write the exams after completion of CITCM Acupuncture, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, or Double Major programs. Exams are typically scheduled in the October after graduation. Please refer to the CAA website for more information: acupuncturealberta.ca
