Laureen Macintosh

Laureen has long had an interest in sports, movement and healing. She studied Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph earning a Bachelor’s degree. She then spent 7 years leading sea kayaking tours off the coast of BC. During this time she honed her ability to teach physical skills as well as relay theoretical information in an easy to understand manner. After a car accident re-introduced her to the benefits of massage, Laureen studied massage therapy at the Foothills College of Massage Therapy in Calgary and received her Advanced Diploma. She continued her massage education by taking shiatsu and reflexology workshops.

Laureen has been practicing massage therapy for 8 years and ran her own clinic for 5 years. Intrigued by the meridian and energy systems of Chinese medicine and wanting to further expand her healing horizons, Laureen enrolled at CITCM in the Dr. of TCM program where she is currently in her 3rd year. As an intern in the student clinic Laureen draws on both her western and eastern education to assess the nature and severity of her patient’s problem and create a custom treatment plan that will help them get better faster. She uses a combination of therapies that reduce pain and support the body’s healing processes so her patients can get back to doing the activities they love.
