Pregnancy is a journey like none other; as you grow and nurture new life within, you yourself begin to transform as well. Like the vine of a willow tree your resilience is tested by the winds of pregnancy; morning sickness, fatigue, growing pains and the resurfacing of new and old emotions. The beautiful thing about Chinese Medicine is that it is here to nurture our physical, emotional and spiritual self during pregnancy. We can surrender into the support of our acupuncturist / TCMD, being held and supported with natural methods so that we can thrive during pregnancy, prepare for an empowering birth and a nourished postpartum.

I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Having a special interest in supporting pregnant women in my clinical practice I was so excited to experience TCM support throughout my own pregnancy and let me tell you I don’t know what I would have done without it! From early on the intensity of my morning sickness was unlike anything I’d ever experienced and with the help of acupuncture and moxibustion I was able to decrease the severity and frequency of this. Though this journey hasn’t been an easy one I wouldn’t change it for the world and feel a profound sense of gratitude for my growing belly. I’m looking forward to taking all that I’ve learned during my pregnancy to better support my own patients throughout their journeys into motherhood and feel so grateful for this ancient medicine that has supported women for thousands of years.
