The CITCM Acupuncture diploma program has a tremendous focus on clinical internship, which trains the students to accurately assess the patient and identify the best plan of treatment.

Students practice at the CITCM onsite clinic as well outreach clinics allowing them to treat a great variety of patients and conditions. Students are also encouraged to participate in a 3-month internship at a university hospital in China, where they will gain extensive clinical training under the most experienced professors and specialists in a fully integrated Western and Eastern hospital setting. CITCM Acupuncture diploma students are eligible to write the Pan-Canadian Written and Clinical Case-Study Examinations for Acupuncturists as well the Alberta acupuncture practical exams facilitated by the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAA) to register as an acupuncturist/Doctor of Acupuncture.

A Registered Acupuncturist in Alberta can practice anywhere in Canada. There may be some additional requirements to comply with provincial mobility policies such as a Jurisprudence exam. Please consult CITCM or the provincial regulatory body for further details.
